Docherty’s Buses Update

With Phase 2 of the Scottish Government’s Route Map out of lockdown now being progressively introduced, Docherty’s Midland Coaches have confirmed that they are to recommence operating their local bus services in both the Auchterarder and Crieff areas.  The various routes will restart as follows:

Restart from Services
Monday, 29 June 2020 19, 20, 18, 45 and 155
Monday, 06 July 2020 Auchterarder Town Bus (Services 49 and 49A)

Colin Docherty, Operations Director, Docherty’s Midland Coaches indicated: “We are looking forward to once again providing a public transport option for residents, and, in light of COVID-19, will be implementing a number of revised procedures to provide confidence that the buses are being operated to the highest achievable standards.”

He also confirmed that “Docherty’s will be operating full timetables, but passengers will need to appreciate that, due to social distancing requirements, carrying capacity on the buses will be reduced.  Passengers also need to remember that face coverings must be worm when travelling on local bus services, unless a passenger has a specific medical condition/age exclusion.”

Andrew Warrington, Chair, Auchterarder Community Bus Group (ACBuG) said “We are pleased that the Town Bus Service will restart on 06 July 2020 and, as the shops and community facilities begin to reopen, residents will have a regular service to travel around Auchterarder.”
