About Auchterarder

auchterarder_09Auchterarder is a beautiful town in rural Perthshire in the heart of Scotland, just minutes from the famous Gleneagles Hotel and golf courses.  The town has one very long main high street and several housing estates branching off that.  We are well served by local shops, ‘Take Aways’, pubs, coffee shops, hotels and B&B’s.

We have a large park, skate park, football pitch, and on the school site there are more community sports facilities, astroturf & 5-A-Side pitches.  We also have the Auchterarder Golf Club and a bowling club.  The AAEA – the Auchterarder Adult Education Association – has a variety of classes held throughout the year to keep you both busy and learning – and meeting new people.

There is a town hall (Ayton 0024966Hall) providing community services and there is a regular bus service to Perth and the local villages, as well as to Stirling. Gleneagles train station is just a few minutes from the town with services to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and Perth. The Community School of Auchterarder has around 400 primary pupils and 400 secondary pupils.
